Released through Republic Records on October 24, 2025, Son of Spergy is Daniel Caesar's fourth studio album and the most commercially successful of his career. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, his first top-ten bow on that chart, and opened at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. In Canada it landed at No. 8 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, his third straight top-ten record at home, and it earned a nomination for Contemporary R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the 2026 Juno Awards.
The album takes its name from his father's nickname, Spergy, and works through family, faith and masculinity as Caesar reckons with the ways he resembles the man who raised him. It is a guest-heavy, texture-rich record: Sampha, Bon Iver, Yebba, Blood Orange, Clairo and Rex Orange County all appear, and his father, gospel singer Norwill Simmonds, turns up too. Executive produced by longtime collaborator Jordan Evans alongside Mustafa, it spun off the singles 'Have a Baby (With Me),' 'Call on Me,' 'Moon' with Bon Iver, and 'Who Knows.'
