The band and the new album

The Irish five-piece are heading out in support of Dopamine Chamber, their fifth studio album, due October 16 via XL Recordings. It follows 2024's Romance, which is certified platinum in the UK, and arrives after the singles "Marianne" and "Tongue." It also features a collaboration with Rosalía on "Where Is Gone?" The band made it with producer James Ford, working between London, the English countryside and Palermo, where singer Grian Chatten recorded vocals in a makeshift booth built from mattresses and cushions.

Across five albums, Fontaines D.C. have refused to repeat themselves, moving from Dogrel (2019) and A Hero's Death (2020) to the UK and Irish number one Skinty Fia (2022) and the more kaleidoscopic Romance. The new record is described in the tour announcement as a move away from the guitar language of their early work and into their most seductive music yet. Chatten says the album itself is a dopamine chamber, where the band tests different mood-altering pieces of music on the listener.

For Vancouver, the date is the only British Columbia stop on a spring run that also visits Seattle on May 8, three days later. The tour follows two sold-out headline shows in New York and Los Angeles last month.
