Vancouver gets the only stop west of Hamilton
The North American leg of The Next Level opens February 17 at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford and closes April 11 at Portland's Moda Center. Four of those dates are Canadian, and three of them are clustered in the east in late February and early March: Ottawa's Canadian Tire Centre, Quebec City's Videotron Centre and Hamilton's TD Coliseum. Zimmer then spends five weeks working across the United States before returning north for Rogers Arena on April 8, sandwiched between Sacramento on April 5 and Seattle on April 9.
For anyone in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba, that makes the Vancouver show the one. There is no Calgary, Edmonton or Winnipeg date on this itinerary, which is the kind of detail that tends to move tickets quickly in a 19,000-capacity room. The Rogers Arena date also lands a month before Metallica's M72 stop at BC Place on May 8, 2027, giving Vancouver two genuinely large-scale arena and stadium bookings inside the same spring.
What The Next Level actually is
This is not a symphony-plays-the-movies night. The Next Level is a purpose-built touring production that leans on electronic soundscapes and an elaborate lighting design as much as on orchestration, with Zimmer performing alongside a multi-instrumental ensemble rather than conducting from a podium. The show has already run through Europe, where the production's own promotional material notes it ranked among the top 10 tours worldwide in the first half of 2026, and it continues through Asia and Australia before reaching North America.
Zimmer has been blunt about the effect he is chasing. "I want the fans to get a feeling like they're at a rave or riding a roller coaster," he says on his website, adding that "the biggest challenge is the status quo - you must do everything in your power to leave that behind and find and create something new." Setlists on previous runs of his live show have drawn from across the catalogue, and Vancouver can reasonably expect material spanning Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Interstellar and Dune.
The credentials behind all of it are not in dispute: two Academy Awards, five Grammys and three Golden Globes across four decades of scoring, plus a second career as one of the few composers who can fill arenas under his own name.
