Kehlani plays the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre at UBC on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with a 6:30 PM start listed, on The Kehlani World Tour: North America. It is one of only two Canadian dates on the tour (Toronto was the other, in August), and it arrives off the back of the biggest stretch of the Oakland singer's career: two Grammys for "Folded" and a self-titled fifth album that gave Kehlani a first No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Tickets are available through Live Nation.

From "Folded" to a first R&B chart-topper
The story of this tour starts in June 2025, when Kehlani released "Folded," a slow, yearning ballad that grew into one of the defining R&B records of the past two years. At the 68th Grammy Awards it won both Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song, the first two Grammys of Kehlani's career after a decade of earlier nominations.
"Folded" became the anchor of Kehlani, the self-titled fifth album released through Atlantic on April 24, 2026. Executive produced by Khris Riddick-Tynes, the 17-track record leans deliberately into '90s and early-2000s R&B, with a guest list that reads like a map of that lineage: Brandy, Usher, Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne, Clipse, T-Pain and Lil Jon, Cardi B, Big Sean and Leon Thomas, plus production contributions from Babyface, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and Jermaine Dupri. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and gave Kehlani a first No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, alongside a Metacritic score in the "universal acclaim" range.
The record also carries weight beyond the charts. Kehlani has spoken openly about the difficult personal period that surrounded its two years of writing and recording, which helps explain why the new songs land with such conviction on stage. Expect "Folded," "Out the Window" and "Back and Forth" to sit alongside older favourites from a catalogue that stretches back to the You Should Be Here and SweetSexySavage era.
A return to the same UBC room
Vancouver fans will know the building. Kehlani played the Thunderbird Sports Centre on the Crash World Tour in October 2024, a show Scene in the Dark photographed. This time the stakes are higher: the tour spent the late summer in amphitheatres and arenas including Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Intuit Dome in Inglewood, and the Vancouver stop comes two nights after Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena, making it the last West Coast date before the tour turns back south to California.
The supporting bill is worth arriving early for. Durand Bernarr, the Cleveland-born vocalist known for his elastic range, has opened much of the tour since the Minneapolis launch in August, and Dixson, a frequent Kehlani collaborator who worked on vocal production across the new album, appears on the Vancouver listing. Live Nation's page also lists a separate "Kehlani hosts Fortune Sound" night at Fortune Sound Club the same evening, ticketed on its own.
