A new home for a Vancouver tradition
The Summer Night Concerts have been a fixture of the PNE Fair for decades, and 2026 marks the official debut of the Freedom Mobile Arch. The PNE describes the amphitheatre as purpose-built for live music, with improved sightlines and acoustics compared with the old bandstand era. The result is an outdoor room that keeps the come-as-you-are, all-ages spirit of the Fair while giving each headliner a proper concert setting.
As always, the appeal is the range. Canadian institutions anchor the run, with Blue Rodeo, The Guess Who, Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan all making appearances, each of them a Canadian Music Hall of Fame act. Pop and hip-hop arrive courtesy of Nelly and Grammy-winning producer Zedd, while The Beaches and Mt. Joy bring the guitar-driven, festival-ready end of the bill.
There is plenty for the specialists too. Cynthia Erivo performs with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for an orchestral night, Punjabi Virsa continues its long-running celebration of Punjabi music, and 'Weird Al' Yankovic rolls in with his Bigger & Weirder 2026 comedy-rock production. Soul and funk legends Earth, Wind & Fire, San Diego post-hardcore favourites Pierce the Veil, arena-pop mainstays Train and new-wave icons Boy George & Culture Club round out one of the most varied lineups the series has offered.
