What Legacy is, and who is playing

Legacy is a new production created by Roger Waters that celebrates Pink Floyd's 1971-1979 output, drawing on The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. The stated aim is to recreate those albums as close to note-for-note as possible, backed by high-definition LED screens that mix pictorial retrospectives with original imagery Waters created during his years in the band.

Harry Waters plays organ, piano and vocals and fronts the ten-piece band. He previously spent years in his father's solo band and, as a small child, was heard on Pink Floyd's "Goodbye Blue Sky". Lead vocals go to Canadian-born, Nashville-based singer Clifton David Broadbridge, who was picked from thousands of submissions after an in-person audition. The rest of the lineup includes drummer Graham Broad, guitarists Edo Scordo and Antonello Pudva, bassist Dahniel Knight, saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Saranich, keyboardist Matt Riddle, and backing vocalists Eva Avila and Genevieve Little.

It is worth being clear about what this is: Roger Waters is not on stage. This is a Waters-sanctioned tribute to the Pink Floyd catalogue, led by family and built around the songs, rather than a Roger Waters concert. For Vancouver, it lands in a mid-sized, seated theatre, a fitting home for an album-focused, visuals-heavy night.

The date sits a long way out, so there is time to plan. Browse everything else on the calendar at Scene in the Dark's Vancouver concert listings.
