A heavy bill built from top to bottom
Trivium's North American run is one of the larger metal packages of the fall, and the band has said as much. In announcing the tour, they described the lineup as "stacked from top to bottom" and said they were honoured to have In Flames along as special guests. For Vancouver that means a full night of heavy music rather than a single headliner with a token opener.
In Flames, the Swedish melodic death metal veterans, anchor the support slot on every date. Frozen Soul, the Texas death metal band, also plays the whole tour. According to the tour announcement, Orbit Culture cover the first eleven shows and Fit for an Autopsy take over for the final twenty-one, which puts Fit for an Autopsy on the Vancouver bill. Check the Ticketmaster listing closer to the date for the final running order and door times.
Trivium in Vancouver
The Florida band's most recent studio album is 2021's In the Court of the Dragon, and no follow-up has been announced. That makes this tour a live-first proposition, built around a catalogue that stretches across two decades. Vancouver has been a reliable stop for Trivium over the years, and a university arena show on a Tuesday in early December is a good slot for a crowd that will show up in force.
The Thunderbird Sports Centre has become one of the city's busier mid-size rooms for touring acts that sit between a theatre and a full arena, and metal has done well there. Expect an early start with four bands on the bill, so plan to be in the building for the opener if you want the full night.
