A tour built around a new record
Frequency of Love arrives just under four weeks before the first show, which opens the run in Raleigh on October 27. That timing matters: by the time the tour reaches Vancouver in mid-December, audiences will have had more than two months with the record, which usually means a room that knows the new material as well as the hits.
The album is the follow-up to Jaguar II, the 2023 release that made Monet one of R&B's defining voices of the decade and earned her the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2024. Her previous headline run, the Jaguar Tour, established her as a serious live draw, with choreography and vocal arrangements that put her band and dancers at the centre of the show rather than treating them as decoration.
Why Vancouver, and why UBC
Vancouver is one of only two Canadian stops, alongside Toronto's Coca-Cola Coliseum on November 21, which makes the Thunderbird Sports Centre date the tour's only western Canadian show. The UBC arena is a mid-sized room by arena standards, a scale that suits a singer whose work leans on close harmonies and groove rather than pyrotechnics.
