There is an easy temptation to reduce Dogstar to the fact that their bassist is a movie star, but on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the trio made a quiet case for being taken on their own terms at a warm, sold-out Vogue Theatre. Out on their All In Now Tour, Bret Domrose, Robert Mailhouse and Keanu Reeves played like a band with nothing to prove and everything to enjoy.

They opened on “Siren” and “Runway” and leaned heavily into their new record, with “This Sphere,” “Joy” and “Wing” showing off Domrose's knack for a sturdy, melodic alt-rock hook. He is the band's heart as singer and guitarist, while Reeves, head-down and unshowy on bass, and the dependable Mailhouse on drums lock in behind him with the ease of players who have known each other for decades.

A highlight was their cover of The Replacements' “Can't Hardly Wait,” a knowing wink given Reeves' turn in the 2000 film of the same name, delivered with real affection. Older favourites like “How the Story Ends,” “Everything Turns Around” and the chiming “Glimmer” reminded the room that this is a band with a genuine catalogue, not a novelty.

The title track “All in Now” capped the main set before an encore of “Punch the Sky,” “Shallow Easy” and “Breach” sent everyone home happy. There were no theatrics and no trading on fame, just three friends playing rock songs they clearly love in a room that loved them back. An unpretentious, thoroughly winning night.
